“Best scones ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

We were 6 miles through a walk and came across the tea room. The weather was wonderful so we sat outside and ordered a cheese scone each, a coffee and a hot chocolate with a shot of baileys. The scones were superb, and the hot chocolate the best my wife has ever had (I'm sure the baileys helped!). It's in a perfect location and we will definitely make sure it's on all our future walks around Rydal

“excellent food, very helpful and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

As a raw vegan, eating out is always somewhat stressful in the UK. Not everywhere does salads, and those that do, offer salads which are predominantly animal based - when you take off the chicken or the cheese, you are sometimes left with a few boring lettuce leaves and a couple of tomatoes! Not so at Cote How Organic. We turned up, exhausted after a very long walk, and I asked the lovely lady there if she could do me a nice big salad but without any animal products at all and without croutons etc- she came out with a superb salad topped with various seeds and raisins which really made it. She could not have been kinder, nor the salad more delicious or thoughtful. My hubby ate from the normal menu and his food was also excellent. We would certainly go there again, next time we are in the area. The property itself is just a short walk uphill from a car park, where many people park for walks in the Rydal area.

“Great place to rest weary legs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

Fabulous place to stop when doing the Grasmere/Rydal walk, especially before tackling the steep climb of Rydal Mount and onto the Coffin Road. Lovely setting and the bathroom is amazing.

“Tea rooms - a wonderful treat for walkers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

I have visited the tea room twice while walking in the Lakes and it's a wonderful find. In winter it was a great place to warm up and enjoy a cup of decaf tea and scones. In summer, we sat outside and enjoyed the excellent soup and sandwich combo. Highly recommended.
