“Mrs Millets Tearoom”

Delightful Tearoom alongside the interesting Hazel Dene Garden Centre. Browse the plants, large areas undercover, before or after enjoying the home made food in the Tearoom

“Always a treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

We have been to Mrs Millers on several occasions for lunch. It is, as I say, always a treat and an experience I always look forward to. I've been very happy to take my elderly parents there as well as close friends and others in my family. Needless to say we've never been disappointed and would, and regulary do, recommend it to anybody.
James's pedigree and qualifications has been well rehearsed elsewhere by other reviewers.
Alas, my one and only regret is that I've not yet been abole to be there for an evening meal - this being due to working in the catering industry myself - perhaps soon!!

“average at best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

We were passing and thought we would try Mrs Millers for sunday lunch. It has quite a large menu but we decided on roast beef .After reading reviews about Mitchelin star quality food (and yes, we have dined at Mitchelin star restaurants), we thought the food was more Toby carvery and we left rather disappointed.

“amazing food cooked to perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

James the chef is extremely passionate about his food, and as a result, the meals he produces in the garden centre are on a par with any Michelin starred restaurant (if not better!). We love the Saturday night meals, changed every week and often based on a theme. They are served by friendly and efficient waitresses, in a lovely setting. The champagne cocktails are a real treat to start the evening, along with the complimentary bread and appetisers, and the interesting and innovative starters and main courses - locally produced and cooked and served exquisitely, are always absolutely delicious. Make sure you leave room for one of the desserts- you will not be disappointed. The price of all the food and wine is very reasonable. James and his other staff at Mrs Millers deserve to go from strength to strength. This is a very special place!!

“A real treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2012

A Cafe in a garden centre that serves gourmet food, I don't believe it! It's true, this is a real find. The staff are great and the specials menu which changes regularly is a dilemma, which do we choose. Go just for the tea room don't just wait till you need some plants from the garden centre.
