5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2011

We found dining at the Lyzzick Hall Restaurant to be a fantastic experience. The staff where very friendly and attentive. The menu choices to be ample and plenty of locally sourced ingredients. The food it self was very nice and a high quality. We also found the wine list to be pretty good vaule. Overall it was a fantasic evening and will be coming again at some point in the future.

“Sunday Lunch Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2011

The restaurant styles itself as an upmarket regional restaurant - at least for Sunday lunch.
Food: I know no better Sunday lunch - even in my own kitchen. Ask for beef rare and it arrives, well done likewise. Great starters and a good selection of alternatives to the traditional roast. Good wine list. A superb cheese board rounds off the perfect Sunday experience. Sweets are great too.
Service: Ownership is, I'm told, Spanish. The Spanish waiters have a superb appreciation of English humour. Relax and don't be offended as the waiter criticises your choice of wine! Service is always attentive nearing excellence.
Ambience: The view from the dining room would be hard to better anywhere. The feel is grand hotel throughout. The rooms set aside for aperatifs and coffe are perfect.
Rating: The restaurant easily exceeds ita ambitions. For Sunday lunch I have found no equal.

“Lovely food, great atmosphere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2011

I have eaten here three times now, always as part of a large pre-booked family group. For someone who rarely dines out, the menu can be a little daunting, but the food itself was delicious every time and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Great menu choices, much locally sourced. Wine list broad with a Spanish flavour. Attentive knowledgeable staff.

“Only thing puts it apart from road side cafe is the view and the price.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2009

No one to greet you on arrival, left wandering around and another guest pointed us to the bar. Starters arrived in minutes obviously pre made and not very tasty, waiters were reaching over my food as I was eating it to get an empty side plate. As soon as you put your fork down your plate was gone, we felt very rushed. Tables were emptying and filing seconds later with the next diners. Our wine was an expensive bottle and not even corked at the table. Steak extremely rare although burnt on one side when we ordered medium. Fat was left on an over cooked halibut. Nice local cheese but poor fruit. We were rushed through to the lounge for coffee so they could free up our table. Tables small and crowded, very noisy restaurant. When I went to the toilet I could here the kitchen staff shouting and swearing so we took out half drank wine, paid and left. This was a anniversary meal which was over priced for a poor experience. We will certainly not be back or stray from the good food guide again.
