We have just arrived back from Keswick. We have had a excellent three nights stay at Oakthwaite House. The hosts Peter and Sandra are so welcoming, and do everything they can to make your stay a memorable one. The rooms are spotless and so well equipped. We stayed in the smaller room but wasn't disappointed at all, there's a place for everything. We got complimentary chocolates on arrival on our bed, bottles of water, biscuits and bathroom condiments. The breakfast was delicious, cooked to perfection, and plenty of choice. Oakthwaite House is an a quiet area close to the town centre (5 mins walk). North Lakes is a lovely area, there are so many beautiful places to see, one of our days we walked around Derwent Water from Keswick which is about 8 miles round and very flat, it took us approx 5 hours with stops on the way. If you can't make it all the way round you can catch the boat back from one of the many pickup places, (just pick up a leaflet of times and places from the tourist information centre in keswick). We will strongly recommend this Guest House. Thanks again Peter and Sandra, we hope to come back in the near future.
