We have just had a very cosy weekend in keswick staying at the Ellergill Guest House on Stanger Street. We normally choose this part of Keswick because after a long day in the fells, Stanger Street is ideally situated for the town centre and is quiet at night.
We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday night with a last minute booking. We were offered 3 different grades of room and we chose room 4 at £85 per night as it was described as larger than the others with a king size bed...and what a very comfortable bed indeed...a great nights sleep.
The room was tastefully decorated, clean, spacious and the en suite was larger than what you would normally expect from a B&B. A big radiator kept the room warm when needed.
The owners were pleasant and unintrusive, getting the balance just about right. Breakfast was ok.
When we return to Keswick we would stay in Stanger Street again, and we would consider this establishment again too as the room was better than many we have stayed in in hotels.
