We received a very warm and friendly welcome at Laurel bank! Fantastic place and convenient location for the walks and town centre. Great people who gave us lots of information and advice and cooked a lovely breakfast! Would recommend this place to anyone.

very welcoming, lovely comfortable room, great breakfast and good location. would definitely book again. stayed in room which accommodated three adults and our dog. 10 - 15 minutes walk to town centre. the owners were away on holiday but the couple who ran it for them were extremely helpful and friendly, having lots of local knowledge and information about walks, attractions etc.

Great place; lovely hosts who gave us loads of tips on local food/ walks/ drives

Location is a bit out of town but we liked that actually - it's only a 15 min walk in or a £2.90 cab

Rooms very comfortable and homely with great views; some front some back so ring ahead to choose what you prefer (all were nice to me)

Cracking breakfast you won't be hungry

Room Tip: Views vary out to different angles; if you have a preference just ring ahead and organise

We were made very welcome when we arrived and shown to our room on the top floor with a view of Latrigg from the chair by the window. The keys, shower room, breakfast times etc were explained to us and we were left to settle into a nice warm room. Next morning our breakfast was excellent-freshly cooked and exactly what we had requested. When we returned at the end of the day our room had been cleaned and tea coffee and biscuits replenished. We were pleased to be able to bring the dog too.Parking was also available at the back and we walked into Keswick each evening-about 15 minutes either along the road or the old railway line. Our hosts were friendly without being intrusive. We really enjoyed the warmth of our welcome-and of the room in a rather cold Keswick. We would very happily stay again.

After finding Laurel bank I contacted them on the morning of our first day and the lady (Betty, who was B&B sitting for the owners) was most helpful. We were pleased to know our chocolate lab was welcome too and when we arrived our room and key was all ready. There is car parking at the back which is a bonus as most of the B&B's on the same road do not have that.
Customer service was top notch, I was surprised to know that the owners were away as our 2 hosts were more than suited to the B&B's friendly atmosphere. A few jokes and friendly chat with them and we had a few recommendations for dog friendly restaurants for dinner. Sienna's was the one we went for, it was lovely (try the garlic mushroom starter!) The walk back to the B&B is only 10 mins into Keswick and there's a pub en route if you fancy a quick drink before bed.
Breakfast is served between 8.30 & 9.15 (although you can request earlier or later if you wish the night before) A choice of self service cereals and juice, Coffee & Tea brought as you sit down, followed by a freshly cooked full english, which was delicious!
We were given advice of a good walk round the laken and when we got back again it was nice to chat with the couple in charge. Towels are available for wet dogs, but we already had our own.
Rooms are clean, comfortable, and a good size considering we had a dog bed in there too. Laurel Bank is all you need to come back to after a long walk around the lake.
I'm sure we will be using Laurel bank again, and Ive already recommended it to a few friends considering a trip.

This is the second time we have stayed at laurel bank and each time we have a great time with no complaints at all. The B&B is dog friendly so we were able to take our two dogs and the room was a great size and very comfortable, not cramped at all like other B&B's we have tried in the past. The breakfast is great and their is also parking at the back of the building which is a bonus. The room was cleaned very well everyday and Rodney is more than welcoming at all times. We had previously stayed in a few B&B's in keswick before finding laurel bank and I have to say this is the best one we have stayed in.
