From the warm welcome received on arrival our stay at Highside Farm was second to none!! The en-suite bedroom was luxurious but yet homely at the same time and the views were out of this world.

Even though Martyn and Deborah were extremely busy with the lambing season on the farm they kindly gave us a quick look in the sheep shed and were lucky enough to see some lambs being born!! The Mawsons two young sons even let us help feed the pet lambs..a real joy and a taster of life on a working farm!!

The hearty breakfast kept us going until mid afternoon and it was reassuring to hear that Deborah uses local produce(sausages, bacon and the eggs).

I cannot recommend Highside Farm enough, we will definitely be back...SOON!!

We heard about this location from friends and we were not disappointed. Deborah Mawson made us feel very welcome and the accommodation was comfortable and relaxed. Breakfast was a highlight! The location is superb with fantastic views over Bassenthwaite Lake and plenty of walks within easy access. We will certainly be returning for a longer stay later in the year!

One of the best B&Bs I have stayed in. Food,accomodation and facilities were all excellent. Room was spacious,clean and tidy.
Delicious breakfasts to set you up for the day. Deborah was very welcoming,friendly and helpful. What more could you ask for?

Recently stayed at high side for 3 nights lovely room with great views. very clean and tidy. The breakfasts were great and there was a good selection. 10 minute drive to keswick and 5 minutes to Dodds wood where you can view the red squirrels and ospreys. Deborah looked after us very well and was always available even at the busiest time of the year.We stayed right in the middle of the lambing season, which was a bonus. The price was very reasonable, and we would definitely reccommend this farm stay.
You can walk from the farm on to the fells or down to the lake which is a bonus.
