We were lured into this place by the amazing selection of Belgian beers which I cannot fault (and which if you have a couple of first might help your enjoyment of the food!). The menu seemed pleasingly varied. However, unfortunately the quality of the food did not meet expectations. The starters were ok, I had salt and pepper squid which was quite well cooked although (and I realise this is a matter of taste) it was very salty for my palate. My friend who had the soup also said it was ok. However, the main courses were pretty awful. I order lamb chump with mediterranean vegetables and feta cheese. I imagined a plate of happy Greek flavours I guess. What I got was a very odd combination of a sort of warm courgette and new potato salad with feta cheese on top in big lumps and then sliced very pink lamb covered in (what tasted like) gravy granule gravy. Feta and Bisto is not a good combo. My friend had fish and chips, the batter was pancake thick and undercooked, with the small amount of fish underneath cooked to death. Happily the chips were yummy. I did provide some feedback on the meal when asked if it was ok (I told him I wasn't overly enjoying the very odd feta/gravy combination and perhaps he should let the chef know) but perhaps I wasn't clear enough in my disappointment because the guy just said OK and then literally ignored us for the rest of our time there, without clearing our plates, asking if we wanted pudding/bill or anything. Surely if someone doesn't seem happy, ignoring them and hoping they will go away is not the best policy for a restaurant?! Anyway - overall, would go back for the wonderful beer but wouldn't bother with the food.
