“Lovely!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013 via mobile

Just returned! Room clean and modern with lovely decor. Breakfast was yummy, wish I had had the Cumbrian though looked incredible. Ideal location for the town which is also very very beautiful (you must visit the chocolate shop!) staff were very friendly and pleasant. Returning in February!

Fantastic location: just a short walk to the lake
Extremely comfortable room with top quality everything, comfortable bed, powerful shower, etc.
Great choices for breakfast and all delicious.
A "library" full of useful info.
Recommendations for restaurants.
So, could anything be improved? Well, for us, a longer/later time for breakfast, although it did get us up and out!. Parking was fine in November but must be difficult in the high season.
Otherwise it's a pretty perfect place to stay.

Room Tip: Face "The Heads" - there's a fantasic view.

We have just returned from our third visit to Howe Keld, and it remains as good as ever. This time we stayed in Room 11 and it was lovely. Very welcoming and cosy, although it was even bigger than the room we had previously. The bathroom was also a little larger. The room was on the second floor, and had the same lovely views of the western mountains.

Too many good points to list, but those that stand out are the wonderfully comfortable bed, the fantastic power shower and the breakfasts. The whole guesthouse is immaculate.

There is no doubt that we will be back. There may well be other very good guest houses in Keswick but we have no wish to try them. We have found our perfect getaway in the Northen Lakes!

My husband and I had a one night stay Saturday 2nd November. The owners and staff were extremely welcoming and the standard of accommodation was outstanding. Beautifully furnished and decorated, environmentally friendly, extremely comfortable, warm and cosy. The breakfast was fantastic, nourishing, healthy, great choice, delicious. The location right by the parks, two minutes from the lake, theatre and town, made this a perfect stay. We can't wait to go back and stay for longer.

This was our second visit to Keswick staying at Howe Keld and it was just as good as we remembered from the first time.

Extremely welcoming hosts.
Excellent bedroom with power shower, lovely décor, comfortable surroundings.
Wonderful breakfast.
Perfect spot to explore Keswick and the surrounding areas.

I would definitely recommend a stay at Howe Keld!!

Brilliant place to stay. It's well positioned for both the town centre and the lake. The accommodation is finished to a very high standard using lots of locally sourced materials, and it shows. The hosts were very helpful indeed, recommending local places to eat and generally being there when required, but in a very low key kind of way. The breakfast was to die for! Would highly recommend.

We stayed at the Howe Keld for a three day visit to Keswick, we found David and Valerie to be gracious and very welcoming! nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is amazing, room 15 is a real treat to stay, very clean and modern interiors with a warm homely feel, plus a great bathroom!!! Perfect location for walks on the fells, the lake and central to the town centre amenities. We have stayed in Keswick many times but this is a unique find and we will certainly be returning...

Room Tip: Great bath for the perfect soak after a good hard days walking in room 15. Great views from a dual a...
