“Typical B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

The negative: no car park; the shower is difficult to get the hang of it, the bed is small, the breakfast has a limited time: 8-8.45

The positive: the owner is friendly, you get discounts for theatre and boat cruises, near the town centre, the breakfast has all you need.

Ideal for our short walking break. Room fine if slightly "creaky", nice big bathroom with plenty of hot water. Michael was friendly and helpful. Excellent location in the town centre where parking might be an issue if you are using your car. We were ok as we parked and left the car for the duration. Breakfast was brilliant-anything you could possibly fancy. Will definitely stay again.

We stayed for three nights, myself my husband and my 14 yr old son. The guesthouse is in a fantastic location for the town and local amenities. There is no specific parking spaces as is the case all around this area, but parking is free if you are lucky enough to find a space although there are pay and display carparks. The family room we had has a double bed and a single bed which was good as many family rooms tend to have a sofa bed or camp bed only which is not really comfy enough for a teenage boy! It has a flat screen tv which was up on the wall and was quite small but sufficient for us. Upon arrival we noticed there were only 2 cups and saucers and 2 glass beakers for the three of us so we had to ask for them as we also did glasses for the next night. The beds were comfy but the pillows werent but thats personal choice and what you are used to. The breakfast was filling, a varied choice, but I thought maybe a bit more fresh fruit was needed when the guesthouse was full with 7 guests and only 2 halves of kiwi and a selectio n of other fruit were available. Well cooked full english breakfast, ordered the night before. All in all we enjoyed our stay, good value for money. It was not one of the best guesthouses we have stayed in as we felt that all our needs were not always met even though there are only 3 rooms but for the price we certainly wouldnt argue. We thoroughly enjoyed Keswick and there is plenty to see and do for all ages.

Highly recommended - we turned up at this B&B, picked at random, on a Saturday afternoon. The host was very welcoming and offered us a beautiful, comfy room at a bargain rate. You won't go wrong here!

Very close to shops, cafes and bars. Staggering distance to the centre of Keswick. The owners of the B&B are also super helpful about the area. We know Keswick very well, but they offered help on getting around the place etc.

We didn't have breakfast, as it was a late night and early dash for a bus - but the buffet selection sounded delicious!

I stayed here for one night and found the room very comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean. The host was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. A good selection. The only negative was the facilities. There were only 2 teabags and 2 coffee bags on the complimentary tray for one night and very little offered by way of soap etc. No shampoo for eg. Although I was given some when I asked. If there was a hairdryer there I did not see it. Everything else was OK but this aspect of the bed and breakfast could be improved.

What a perfectly located B&B, within a short walk of the main street and with easy access to some beautiful walks without even having to drive the car. Michael was a wonderful host offering a delicious breakfast every morning and lending us booklets describing various walking trails. The Latrigg hike was a beaut start for us as we were a bit out of condition. Even the delightful wander along the lake in the evening offered wonderful views and sunset coloured skies. The room overlooked the quiet little street, was spotless and very comfortable. An unassuming yet delightful accommodation even when it rained.

Room Tip: The front room overlooking the street was delightful.

We found this on spec via the Tourist Information Centre. It was very nice. The host was friendly, the room very clean and quiet with more facilities than you would normally expect from a B&B, e.g. hairdryer. We were on a walking holiday and he didn't mind boots etc. The breakfast was great - large selection of cereals, fruit etc, along with either cooked breakfast or cheese and meat cold plate. It's also a short walk to the town centre. I'd certainly go back if we visit Keswick again.
