We've been staying at this hotel most years for a long time now, since our previous favourite became too expensive. It hasn't always been as good as it is now and could do with some attention to the outside woodwork way up around the roof, but the food is excellent, the menu reasonably varied and the mountain views across Keswick (from our Junior Suite on the top floor) stupendous. Easy walking distance from the centre of Keswick, and the markets, with the lakeside not too much further, where a launch will take you on a tour of the lake, or you can stop off at several stops on the way. The staff were friendly and most accommodating and our room was comfortable and well equipped. If you need entertainment while you dine, ask for a table by the restaurant windows and watch the antics of the rabbits and the bat aerobatics in the evening. We'll be back within the next 18 months, with luck!
