“A warm and friendly welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

We have stayed several times at the Edwardene over the past three years and have always received a very warm and friendly welcome. The standard of accommodation is excellent and nothing is too much trouble for owners Marie and Russell. The breakfast is probably the best in Keswick! We also spent a really enjoyable Christmas there, the food was five star! We would not consider staying anywhere else, highly recommended.

We visited The Edwardene in august 2011 for a couples relaxing break and thoroughly enjoyed our stay .. as a young couple we thought we would stick out like a sore thumb however this was the opposite. The oweners welcomed us greatley and the breakfast was deliscious and a wide selection to choose from cooked or continetal. We stayed in a beautiful room very cosey and homely. The Edwardene is located a minutes walk from the center but the House itself is very peacefull and quiet. We ate in a local italian restaurant which was located in the courtyard and was extremely deliscious!

Would recommend anybody to stop here!!

We loved our stay at the Edwardene. After a long day it is wonderful to return to a comfortable and peaceful room. Marie and Russell are wonderful hosts, friendly and helpful.
What makes this an unforgettable stay was breakfast (poached eggs perfect! ) we loved the choices and Russell in the kitchen was a star.
Highly recommended

Just returned from a third visit to the Edwardene. Had a lovely time there over four nights. The place is delightfully decorated and spotlessly clean. Rooms are nice and comfortable - a wonderful place to come back to after a long day walking in the fells. The food is excellent and hosts Marie and Russell are so friendly and welcoming. Couldn't possibly recommend it more highly.

We've just returned from our second visit to The Edwardene and I totally agree with all the positive comments I have read.
The hotel is ideally located, very tastefully furnished and maintained to an immaculate standard.
We stayed in "Merlin" which although not the largest of rooms is situated on the top floor and looks out onto Latrigg and Skiddaw, both of which I could see first thing in the morning without lifting my head off the pillow.
The quality of the breakfasts is superb due in part to the careful selection of local produce but also to the presentation. ( Russell's poched eggs are still no.1 in our book! )
Marie was as helpful as ever with tips and advice and made us feel very welcome.
I can see why the Edwardene is attracting a regular clientele and we will definitely be one of those looking to return on our next visit to Keswick

Walking the Cumbria Way we found a very charming and nice accomodation in the Edwardene.
It´s located near to the marketplace in a very silent area of the small town. Easy to find.
The rooms are spacious and very well furnished, so are the bathrooms.
The hosts are wonderful and friendly, giving good informations about eveything you might know.
There also is free WLAN.
We loved the extraordinary breakfast with lots of fresh fruits.
We felt very well to stay there and hope to come back somewhen

The Edwardene was ideally situated in Keswick. Easy walking distance to the centre and not far from all the good walking routes.

We stayed in "Myrtle" which was reasonable sized and had a beautiful king sized bed. The decor, linen, and furniture were well chosen and clean. The bathroom was quite small but had everything we needed, just had to be careful not to hit our heads on a shelf when cleaning our teeth!

The breakfast was lovely. We both had the full English on the first day and opted for poached eggs rather then fried. As we started eating, Marie (One of the owners) came up to us with two freshly cooked eggs and said the chef said eggs were to overdone! What a service! The quality of the produce was second to none.

We only met one of the owners (Marie). She was very helpful, showing us on a map where the best places to eat and drink were. She also gave us helpful advice on some good walks.

Although we did not use it, there was a nice lounge where you could sit and have a drink (Had to be purchased from the establishment).

Overall we had a lovely stay at the Edwardene and would highly recommend.
