3rd visit and still fantastic. Stayed in Bracken Lodge. Comfortable, clean and everything you need. Perfect for walks. Pheasant Inn agreat place to eat. Keswick is only a 10 minute walk away.Lots of shops to browse and plenty of outdoor shops if you have forgotten anything. We love it and will be returning to here many more times. Really is like a home from home.

We stayed at Acorn Lodge with our two border collies at the end of May for whit week. We had a lovely relaxing week with fantastic weather! Our lodge was fully equipped and furnished to a high standard. We have stayed at Burnside Park several times in the past, we like to stay here may/June time to make the most of the long days and light nights . It is an excellent location to walk straight from your front door and only use your car when you leave to go home at the end of your hol. There are plenty of pubs and eating places in and around Keswick to fill your boots with at the end of a long walk. !! If you have never stayed here then you are missing a treat if you are a lover of our beautiful Lake District you get fantastic accomadation in a beautiful location and you will not use the car all week.

Stayed here recently for the 2nd year in a row. Location is great-really convenient for transport links (a66 in particular) but given trees surrounding the park, very rarely if ever do you hear the traffic noise which is great.

Quick 5-10 minutes walk into Keswick itself, past the Pheasant Inn, which itself is a lovely local pub with excellent local produce.

Stayed at the Bega lodge at the back of the park-views out over to Skiddaw are amazing and nice balcony to sit looking out over it.

Only downside this year was it didn't seem quite as clean as previous year-other than that, highly recommended!

Stayed in Fell Foot lodge (no. 20) a two bedroomed wooden cabin with balcony giving the most wonderful mountain views out towards Skiddaw and Latrigg beyond the adjoining field (full of beautiful Herdwick sheep during our visit). The lodge is clean, tidy and well equipped with an excellent little kitchen (including a washer/dryer and dishwasher - both unused by us). Two bedrooms, one a double (comfortable), the other a twin. The Bathroom has a small sit-in bath with good quality shower over. Despite this development being close to a main road we found it peacful, the noise of the road being barely noticeable, even when out on the balcony, as this lodge is positioned away from the road-facing parts of the site. Burnside Park is a well kept development with tidy grass around the lodges. We had such a pleasent stay (admitely helped by some most un Lake District like warm dry weather) that we had no hesitation on our return but to book the same lodge again for another stay! (Just one tiny negative: there are drive lights positioned around the gravel roadways, one just outside the double bedroom's window, so the rather thin curtain does let in quite a bit of light at night. However it would be easy enough to tape something over the window inside yourself if this caused you trouble.)

A week in Keswick - stayed at the Ennerdale cabin on Burnside Park. Clean, tidy and spacious. A great little balcony to sit out on and a very well equiped kitchen (incl'g dish washer, fridge, washing machine). Two bedrooms; one a double the other two singles. Spacious lounge kitchen with tv. Bathroom small having a shower unit above a hip bath. Easy to keep warm. Bedding provided and very good quality.

For the two of us it was spot on.

We walked on every day of the holiday week except one and we were able to walk from the door for 5 of those six walks. Saying that, for the sixth walk we used the bus and walked to the bus terminus next to the Booths Supermarket. It took less than 20 mins. It is a great location, close enough to the town across the busy A66 to give you all the services and facilities but just enough out to not suffer the "noise" of the town. The road noice can be heard but the A66 seems to die of traffic late on in the evening so no prob there.

Big positive is the proximity of the Pheasant Pub. It is about 100 yards away from the cabin across the A66. We ate there three nights and stopped off for a drink there every evening except one. Also there is the Garage Cafe across from the pub....mighty fine.

Would we go again? Deffo.

Room Tip: Take your own towels, it is the only thing they do not provide. Do not expect a classic bath but the...

BAD POINTS: I think because this is possibly the only cabin accepting two dogs, they have left Glaramara with the shoddy furniture just in case. I have reflected this in the "Cleanliness" score. The patio furniture is cheap and run down, the coffee table has chips and water marks all over it. I did notice that some inconsiderate previous guests had allowed their dogs to scratch the inside of the bathroom door so they have ruined it for the rest of us considerate dog owners. The veranda is great but the decking floor, especially in the rain, is extremely slippy even with walking boots on. I think probably a good treatment to preserve the wood and a coat of non-slip paint should be applied because I slipped a couple of times and so did my husband. The shower is OK, but it has a weird step instead of a shower tray which makes it slightly precarious to shower in. Because this particular cabin is near the entrance, it is also nearer to the Crosthwaite Roundabout. The constant drone of traffic can be heard and seen quite close as you sit on the veranda and even in the living room with the door shut.

GOOD POINTS: The cabin is comfy, warm and well equipped with everything you might need. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, no dryer but it's easy enough to put things on the clothes horse by a heater. There are books, games, ancient DVD's but good for kids. The double bed is possibly the comfiest bed I've ever slept in, the twins are just normal beds, but the double bed is amazing! One point is that you can't hear the traffic on the roundabout from the bedrooms, they are very quiet. The veranda is possibly one of the larger ones on the site, and really nice to sit out on especially with the fantastic views of Latrigg, the stream and the farmers field. Some cabins in the site only have other cabins to look out on.

CONCLUSION: The price was almost exactly the same as the rest of our family's 3-berth cabin which looked much better condition and much bigger. I didn't understand that. However they didn't have the amazing views from the veranda that we did! I probably won't visit Glaramara again unless the price is dropped or they spruce it up a bit.

Room Tip: Glaramara is comfortable enough, but don't pay over the odds for it and load your phone up with...

My partner and I have just returned from a lovely relaxing one week stay in one of the self catering lodges @ Burnside Park. The lodge itself was clean, cosy and well stocked with a variety of home comforts - TV; DVD Player; Audio System; Fridge; Freezer; Washer/Dryer; Hob; Oven; Books; Games; etc. The site is located just a 10-15 minute walk from Keswick Town Centre and is ideally situated for walkers who have an eye on the summits of Latrigg, Skiddaw, Blencartha etc. All provided at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a comfy stay in the Keswick area.
