“The best Breakfast in the west!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

My husband and I have stayed here several times, we have never been disappointed once about anything, Dawn & Ken are so welcoming, nothing is any trouble, and the Breakfast, well what can I say, it sets you up for the day and more, excellent place to stay.

I stayed at this bed and breakfast in the summer of 2012 whilst undertaking a solo cycle trip from Land's End to John O'Groats. My wife had kindly booked the accommodation for me and said that they had been very obliging on the telephone. On arrival they very kindly thrust a beer into my hand and said that I deserved it. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was superb, tasting like home-cooked food, with a wide variety of choice. I very strongly had the impression that the couple that run it greatly enjoy doing so. If I ever come back to stay in Keswick I will certainly make the effort to book this accommodation in good time, as I suspect it would book out early.

We stayed here for 2 nights recently in the very spacious and clean family room with a double and twin bed. The location is terrific for walking to shops, restaurants and bus station, and also close to the lake and park. The breakfast was the very best of our 3 week trip in the UK. Be sure to have the full English breakfast...the baked beans, tomatoes and mushrooms were especially tastey!!

Room Tip: The family room on the top floor was quiet, roomy and light. (If wifi is critical to your stay, not...

Just spent a very nice weekend in the Lake District apart from the weather. Can highly recommend this B & B. It is very clean, rooms very nice, comfortable beds, and best breakfast I have ever had at a B & B. If you are looking for good accommodation within easy walking distance of the town centre then you cannot do better than this. Will use it again on next visit to the Lakes.

We stay here ever year and love it. Dawn and Ken are lovely, friendly and very helpful.
Ken's breakfast is fantastic, just what every walker needs before they start their day. You can have as little or as much as you can handle. The rooms are spotless and comfortable.

We have just returned from our second visit to The Winchester and it was just as great as ever.

Ken and Dawn were super hosts and made us feel so welcome and were really helpful advising us on walks, restaurants etc.

Our room was lovely. Spotlessly clean and a really comfy bed. There were lots of little added extras that just made our stay so memorable.

The Breakfasts were outstanding and we totally agree with the previous reviewers comments. In a word "perfect".

We shall be recommending The Winchester to all our friends and look forward to another visit soon.

Real value for money

Thank you.
