“Lovely atmosphere!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

We arrived at LB's quite late after debating where we wanted to eat and what kind of food we wanted. We had a 2 month old baby and even though it was about 9pm they accommodated us with no issue. There was a lovely atmosphere created in the restaurant where you can see your food being prepared.

The food was lovely, very fresh, tasty and very filling, the price was reasonable as well. We would definitely call here again when we are next in Keswick! A great evening!

“enjoyable birthday meal for our 9 year old”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

We went on Saturday night and we enjoyed it. My daughter wanted somewhere 'trendy' (rather than a pub meal really) for her birthday and so we booked LBs.

It's nice, comfortable and warm and the atmosphere (even at 7pm) was good. The waiter was friendly enough and the pizzas were decent - they weren't the absolute best I've ever had sure, but they were certainly better than adequate.

Overall it was a good night. There are 3 pizza places in Keswick - one i've not been to, but this was better than the one on the way to the lake (which admittedly has had new owners since we went).

Hi,

Thanks for your review of LB's Pizza House.

I'm glad you enjoyed your overall experience, and hopefully it suited the style your daughter was after for her birthday!

We are constantly improving the food we serve, in particular the pizzas, and love to come up with new toppings for the pizzas. New spring menu being launched next week!

Hope you will come and visit again.

Thanks

Dani

“A high price to pay for an average Pizza”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

Positives first. A reasonable pizza- thin crust, light on the tomato, and nicely topped (my choice the Americano included sufficient pepperoni, and green pepper, and a generous helping of jalapeno peppers. Service was efficient and friendly. Place had a nice atmosphere and was clean
Downsides: Pizza crust was almost too thin so it was chewy on the edges, soggy in the middle, and not particularly substantial. Lasagne was edible, but swimming in watery melted cheese. No parmesan was offered. Disagree with previous reviewer who commented on reasonable prices- my thin crust pizza was way over-priced. Alcohol also very expensive- a 275ml bottle of cider more expensive here than a pint in a typical pub (and given that it is part of the nearby Kings Arms as the staff were wearing Kings Arms name badges, this is just profiteering.)
In summary, a reasonable meal, but poor value.

Hi StephCart,

Many thanks for your recent review. I can't help but think you somewhat contradict yourself with regards to the pizza and I'm not sure whether you thought the thin base was good or bad! I have eaten many pizza's at LB's and the base is consistent with no soggy bits but rather it might be more moist in the middle than on the edges. In our opinion this stops the pizza tasting too much like cardboard.

Our staff are usually very efficient at offering parmesan and condiments so I'm not sure why it was missed on this occasion but we will check they are aware of this when serving.

With regards to the alcohol prices, I think it is normal to pay slightly more in a nice restaurant than your typical pub which probably does cheap offers on alcohol, however we will take note and compare our prices to other restaurants in the area.

Thanks for your comments.

“Good Pizza!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

We arrived here on a sat night after looking around many other place to eat..but everything else was full. We had been watching the football in the pub attacthed to the restaurant so decided to give it a go. It was very busy but they managed to squeeze us in, we ordered our drinks and which came quickly.

We ordered the sharing plate to start with and this was very tasty, we both then ordered pizza's and a side order of chips...the pizza's were nice but wouldn't bother with the chips as they are just frozen chips.

Overall was pleased that we tried this place as was nicer than expected.
