“Lovely visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We really had a very good visit to this cafe it was busy but we found a little space and ordered our food just as we sat down they came and suggested we move to another table that had become available with more room and by a window so thoughtful of them. We had afternoon tea and it was one of the best ever a good selection of sandwiches scones and cake with plenty of hot tea and the offer to refill if we wanted. The staff were very very nice and so welcoming.
What more could you ask for this was our first visit and will not be our last .
Visited the butchers and bought some lovely meat while we were there.

“Before you even ask!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

Dropped in for lunch. Amazing range of artisan breads and homemade dishes.
Decided on soup and coffee and were asked if we would like the coffee after the soup so that it wouldn't get cold. A little thing, maybe, but indicative of the level of customer service that we observed. The two girls and the chef not only worked behind the counter and in the kitchen but made themselves known 'front of house' and all worked cheerfully as a team to make everyone happy(eg. rearranging tables to fit a group of eight in). Nice ambience, good feeling from all the customers and excellent food.

“A little gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

For the second year running, I called here on my way to the Lakes (although we were practically at our destination, but this cafe is worth waiting for). once again the pea and ham soup hit the spot. The portion was generous and delicious. This was a February Sunday lunchtime, and this isn't a place that does a traditional Sunday lunch, yet people were queueing to get in. The menu comprised bacon / sausage sandwiches, paninis, soups, salads, quiches as well as a few specials of full meals. The setting (both inside and out) is great, and the service friendly and efficient. This cafe is set within the Plumgarth farm setting, including a farm shop, where the produce looked great. Well done! (One criticism... please supply paper hand towels in the toilet - not a hand towel that everyone else has used!)

“Best coffee for miles”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

We visit often. It is our favourite coffee stop in the world. Food is great too. Fresh & locally sourced. Monika & Magda are a delight. Always smiling & attentive. Free parking & conveniently placed a couple of hundred yards from the main road to Windermere from M6 at Junction 36.
