An Autumn break in the Lakes, led us to the delightful welcoming typical Cumbrian House - "Crosswaite", set in the rolling spectacularly scenic countryside , ten minutes from Windermere, and an unforgettable experience of Hospitality in a genuine family home. A roaring homely log fire greeted us in the huge cosy lounge, set aside for us "GUESTIES ", as the charming small children of the house christened the B&B clientele ! Home baked biscuits lovingly prepared daily in the huge farmhouse kitchen by our attentive friendly hosts ,and left welcomingly in the hall to greet us after our daily treks. Beds to sink blissfully into and plentiful supplies of hot water and thick fluffy snow white towels to enhance a luxurious shower- BLISS ! Our hosts Sam and Tirie prepared gourmet Breakfasts for every whim- Smoked salmon, Cumbrian Breakfast, Hollandaise sauce to die for on perfectly poached eggs - the list is endless ! All food presented by our smiling host complete with sparkling teacloth draped over an arm and set out lovingly on gingham clothed individual tables, decorated with fresh flowers from the garden nestling in dainty decorated teacups .Our room looked out over the well kept gardens and had a personal door for us to use to venture out into the seating area outside. I cannot enthuse enough about this young couple who deserve this accolade so much, as a thankyou for a delightful interlude during our week in the Lakes. Well Done - They deserve to succeed- we will be back !! June and Peter from Essex.
