“Great Pub!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

We had 3 courses in this great pub, the service was really slow but we didn't mind because there was a good buzz in the place and we would have only had a few drinks after our meal anyway

I would recommend the chicken and ribs-brilliant!

“Great food, great value and comfortable too”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

Having a need to stay in the Lakes once a month with work I found myself booked into a soulless corporate box nearby, that didn't even have food or a bar, on venturing out to eat I was pointed towards the Gateway, and now am staying here on every trip to the Lakes.

The food is fantastic, the views amazing, the service top notch and the rooms very comfortable, and all for such a good value price!

“Enjoyable stay and meal.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

We stayed here in August 2013 on the way to Scotland. Our room was clean, with a powerful shower and very comfortable bed. Our evening meal was lovely and the breakfast the following day was tasty and generous. The location of the inn is ideal for travelling as it is easy to find and does not take you too far off the motorway. Also, the staff were friendly.

“OMG. Food to die for...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

We were recommended this restaurant by the lady in reception at our hotel. What a fantastic recommendation. Si and I both had the Steak and Ale pie with chips... it was enormous. We also ordered a bread basket which came with butter and rapeseed oil with balsamic vinegar and which we struggled to get through - but Si did his best!!!! Just waiting for the Eton Mess and Sticky Toffee Pudding to arrive. The staff and the owner, Richard were all very friendly. Most importantly very good value for money. Will definitely come back again this week... nom nom nom

“A great find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

We did not plan it, but we ended up staying at the inn for a few days. The place attracted us looking so gorgeous when driving by. Well, we were pleasantly surprised by an endless list of things: professional manager - helpful, polite and friendly staff - a great variety of homecooked meals - nice choice of drinks - relaxing atmosphere - great views of the area - heartwarming outside log fire - affordable prices - and the list could go on and on...overall verdict: what a great find!!!
