This restaurant was recommended to us by Yvonne at the Lyndehurst Guest House. I wasn't too sure about it, but the first night in Kendal it was the only place we could find. Was she ever right! The food was excellent as was the service. Please note this place is slow, not poor service, it just seems to take a while to get the food out. It's worth it however. I'm vegetarian and they were exceptionally nice about making sure I had something I could enjoy. Often I have to eat the salad and potato routine; that is no big deal, after all I'm the who chooses not to eat meat. But it was so nice to get an absolutely delicious meal! We went back the second night and had the same experience. The owner even came to the table to see if we were returning the next night so they could plan something different for me to eat. That is consideration, or what we would call Southern hospitality! Unfortunately we had to leave the next day or we would have been back. Our only mistake here was only having two nights in Kendal. Next trip we will definitely stay longer at the Lyndehurst and eat every dinner at the New Moon!
This place just goes the extra mile. Whether it's seating two tired and bedraggled walk ins or making sure they have an excellent meal, it is a customer first attitude. If you are visiting in the area, GO EAT HERE. If you live in the area...you are fortunate.
