We stayed at this campsite in July. The campsite was £15.50 per pitch, it offered free showers, toilets, plug in points (for hairdryer), washing facilities and a freezer so good value for money. We were a bit concerned that the weather may have flooded the site so we rang up to check the day before. The Receptionist advised that the rain had not made a stamp and the grounds were well drained. We still worried the bad weather would hit before we got there but to our surprise it hadn't and the campsite was a lot dryer than we had anticipated - result! We would definitely stay here again if the prices stay the same as it's in a good location to get to Windermere, Ambleside, Coniston and Grizedale Forest. A great place for activities, walking, cycling, sailing, swinging in the treetops (at Go Ape) and loads of nice places to eat... we would recommend Outgate Inn - a 2min drive from the campsite, the food is exceptional and good value for money if you want to have a rest from your gas stove! There is a river pathway leading from the campsite to the village - it only takes 5-10 mins and saves taking the car each time. Small Co op supermarket in the village for any forgotten items. We wouldn't hesitate in returning to this campsite in the near future.
