“Pleasent hotel in a lovely village.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

The staff were very welcoming and very thorough with their explanation of the room and it's workings! The room was lovely and very relaxing, the 2 pillows on each side of the bed on first inspection looked lovely and plump but the disappointment came as your head touched them and they sank to less than half the depth of one pillow. After some inventive pillow menouvering I had a decent nights sleep. The warm breakfast selection was unusual, wild garlic tartlets, pepper and olive bruschetta, I cannot recall the other option but felt it was more suited to canapés but that is a personal opinion. The cereal selection was good all organic as the name suggests and the fresh croissants and organic jam selection were good. Over all a nice one night stay allowing us access to walk the wonderful trails around grassmere.

My partner booked this hotel as a suprise for my birthday and I can honestly say I was not disappointed. We stayed in the superior room with the hot tub and loved every minute. Our only regret was that we didnt stay longer but we will definately return. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. All rooms were spacious, modern and clean. Bed was large and very comfortable. Breakfast is self serve but the choice is lush. Very recommended!!!

Went for a nite to get away with my girlfriend and stopped in the room with the hot tub. Well as soon as we landed it was so relaxing, it was so relaxing we did not venture out of the room. They we so pleasant and very helpfull, they even gave glasses and an ice bucket so I could drink my own champagne that I had brought with me. The hot tub, the jacuzzi, the spacious shower, the king size bed, it was just MARVELLOUS. Thank you and carnt wait to back.
Just one thing to say DO NOT EAT AT THE TWEEDIES it's disgusting.

Room Tip: The hot tub room, it's marvellous

We have stayed in Grasmere before but opted for Moss Grove based on reviews and availability of offers in January. We wanted to be based in central Grasmere for transport and restaurants and found the location ideal. There are no evening meals provided but Tweedies bar was just across the road and offered a good range of dishes. We had a downstairs room which had loads of space with leather tub armchairs and leather bedhead in keeping with the organic mission of the accommodation. The bathroom was excellent, very large with powerful separate shower and a whirpool bath, great after a day out in the snow. The breakfast was buffet style served from the kitchen, and can be eaten in the large dining room/lounge or in the room, the food was varied and interesting ranging from crostini, locally produced ham, cumberland sausages, boiled eggs, croissants plus a lot more. Some may miss their full english but this is a varied and refreshing alternative. The staff were very helpful and resolved any issues straight away, such as a missing scart cable from the TV/Bose sound system set-up.

Whether a its a B&B or a hotel pound for pound the decadent luxury is worth every penny. The owners are genuinely warm and friendly. The rooms are all beautiful and individually decorated to the highest standards. Grasmere is arguably the prettiest village in the Lake district with Moss Grove fits the bill. The tasty organic breakfast is laid out in an unusual buffet style kitchen mmmmmmmm. The Jumble Room restaurant will make you stay worthwhile.

Booked last minute via booking.com and we weren't dissappointed! We love staying in Grasmere and have wanted to stay at Moss Grove but the cost has just been out of our bracket. Saw a good deal on booking.com and went for it. Its a 'newly' refurbished hotel so all amenites are very modern, We had an executive room, Huge (let me saw again, H U G E) bed, large bathroom with a jaccuzi and shower and plenty of space for our dog. The breakfast was a buffet and was vast in its selection, from fruit and cereals to wonderful sausages. We requested the porridge option the night before and it was lovely. As my better half requested me to fetch her breakfast in bed it was a bit awkward making multiple trips upstairs, but she was happy! The only way I can suggest to improve the breakfast was to firstly set out the cereals etc in the 'dining' room so guested didn't have to keep going back and forth to the kitchen, and secondly, an option of freshly cooked eggs (poached, scrambled etc) would be good. All in all, we really enjoyed our time there and thanks to all the helpfull staff. We hope to be back!!

We stayed for just one night just after New Year and had a wonderful stay. The location was perfect, right in the centre of Grasmere and just opposite the lovely Tweedies bar which I'd recommend. The rooms were beautifully decorated and thought had obviously gone into making it a special stay. The breakfast was lovely and we were offered complimentary refreshments of tea and coffees as well as mince pies to suit ourselves. Would love to stay again.
