It was the last day of our week break so took an easy relaxing walk over from Ambleside via the Coffin route to Grasmere and decided to pop in for a light lunch and refreshment. The service was ok, nothing out of this world, the ales are bottled but at pump prices but with a good selection (Loweswater Gold, Langdale and the likes). We sat outside in the sun but the inside looked pretty small with décor not really suited to the location, black leather seats in a retro America dinner style. I had a toasty and my wife had a sandwich both came with French fries, both really good and at a very good price for this area, the dressing on the side salad was nice and we really enjoyed lunch. Enjoyed even more so knowing we hadn’t been ripped off like the feeling we get at a lot of daytime eateries in the Lakes, so we headed back around Grasmere & Rydal lakes taking in the scenery for the last time on this trip.
We would return through day not sure I would for evening meal and relaxing drink.
