“A must see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

This is a fully restored cottage. The tickets are timed so be prepared for a wait at busy times.
The ceilings are low in some places and it is interesting to see how such a large extended family lived. The guided tour is very good with the guides having a great knowledge on their subject.
Visit here first before Rydall Mount to see how life was before he found fame and fortune.

“The home of Wordsworth”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

Very small cottage just on the edge of Grasmere village and it really is a must see attraction. The home of the poet William Wordsworth and his family. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the tour round the cottage was very enjoyable.

“Lovely garden”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012

Wordsworth's cottage was very enjoyable but it would have been nice to have a poke round rather than the very good guided tour being the only option

“Great place to visit but not value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2012

The cottage was a good experience, with the guided tour of each room. However it didn't last too long and wasn't very detailed about Wordsworth himself. The museum (included in the price) is very informative. However if you want to see where he got his inspiration, a walk around the lakes is a better choice. They don't offer an OAP concession.
