We really enjoyed our stay here and cant recommend it enough. The rooms are clean and bright and the breakfast is too die for.
Made to feel very welcome in this nice cosy, homely b& b.
Had booked for two nights but the weather was so bad we only stayed for one but we will certainly be returning when we can be sure of better weather.
Will be telling all our friends and family this is the place to stay when visiting Grasmere.

My wife and I stayed for two nights at Chestnut Villa and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. The location is a couple of minutes walk from Grasmere village where you have access to everything you need but you wouldn't know it from the premise itself where you are treated to some wonderful landscape views. The hosts, Richard and Mike, were very attentive hosts who's only interest was your comfort. They offered a relaxed atmosphere and were happy to let you come and go without feeling awkward. The breakfast was substantial and cooked to your personal taste with the offer of packed lunches and evening meal through prior arrangement.

The rooms and premises were clean and welcoming and from our room (room 9) we had an outstanding view. Their approach to running this B&B was relaxed and affable which pervaded the over-all feel to the place. They were affable hosts who were happy to chat about their long-term vision for the building, and we got the feeling that they had lots of plans to establish themselves further based on a reputation for comfort and informal hospitality.

Good value for money and we will be returning soon! Highly recommended!

My family and I have just returned from spending three night at Chestnut Villa and we could not recommend this B&B highly enough. Brilliant location, clean, comfortable rooms, excellent cooked breakfast and the most perfect and accommodating hosts you could want for! All six of us had an absolutely fantastic long weekend break and really want to thank both Mike and Richard for making us feel so welcome. Mark, Grace, Bradley, Debbie, Glen and Roger xxx

I have never written a review before, but was so impressed with the Chestnut Villa, that just had to. We spent 2 nights here for the May bank holiday weekend. Was a bit apprehensive about the road-facing room to begin with, but my concerns were ill-founded. There was no road noise, and we had a peaceful sleep. The room itself was quite cosy.
Richard and Mike were extremely welcoming and friendly, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. They even helped us out with some walking tips and offered to print out maps. Breakfast was absolutely scrumptious, and I confess to eating more than I usually would!
This is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed at and will certainly go back. All it needs is some hot chocolate in the rooms to make it just perfect!!!

I'm a picky traveller and I was still really impressed. Okay, it's not a posh hotel but Richard and Mike were brilliant - as if this was a five star hotel and I was their only guest! I don't think I've ever felt so welcomed! The breakfast was beautiful - really tasty, the perfect start to a great day! This is the kind of B&B I hoped for and never seemed to get. Almost like you're staying at a friend's lovely house in the country. I'm definitely going back when I'm back in the lakes next month. Haven't been this impressed for a long time!
