“Not bad for a man made pond!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

Lovely walk from Coniston alongside streams, through woods brings you up to Tarn Hows with beautiful vies on a clear day. Avoid during busy periods as it can be like a sponsored walk- I opened a gate along the path and stood there for about 15 minutes as one family, couple, tribe after another sauntered past!

“Picture postcard territory”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

This is a great place whatever time of year. In its autumn colours with some sun, it really was attractive. The place is so easy on the eye and offers some easy walking around the perimeter of the lake.

We walked over from Hawkshead and this was part of a circular walk which we'd recommend

“All Time Favourite Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

What a beauty spot visited many times but the autumn is especially lovely. The Tarn is managed by The National Trust. Plenty of good clean loos. The walk around the tarn is magical and is very popular so sometimes very busy and the car park full. A good walk on safe footpaths dog friendly and plenty to see.

“Beautiful setting, gentle walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

Not the best signed, but once there, it's a lovely walk. There was a light mist falling during most of our visit, but couldn't conceal the beauty. Crushed rock paths help wet weather visit. Relatively flat, so suitable for novice hikers.
