“Fabulous hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Considering there was a wedding on and we were not part of it, the hotel managed to cope admirably. A very comfy hotel, usual West Cumbrian charm. Room exceptionally clean and spacioius. Bathroom amazing. Food was good, breakfast very good. All in all, a very comfortable hotel and would thoroughly recommend it.

Located at the end of the Main Street and by the river. Renovated fully following the floods.
Busy with corporate guests. A mix of old building and new bedroon wing. Rooms spacious.
At the tip end if the price range.

Food in the bistro very good value and staff very willing to help.

Excellent all round, the friendly welcome, attentive team , very good rooms, meals , bar, lounges. We stayed a few years back as a large group of about 70 for two nights when our choir was singing again in Keswick. We returned as a couple more recently when we had just a lunch as we were touring further afield. Very pleased to see the hotel has stayed consistently good over these years. Attractive river walks, next door to the Wordsworth house. Lots of interest in the small town of Cockermouth, the old buildings, the churches, the small individual shops, ( look out for the hardware shop with its exhibits from 19th century on as well as selling the range of what`s really needed in the 21st century) the microbrewery up the road and the Jennings Brewery. A good base to tour the northern Lakes Somewhere to visit again soon

this hotel was a pleasure to stay at.The setting on the banks of the river was a very good start with ample parking space. On checking In the hotel is spotless & the reception staff were efficient, smartly dressed, polite & courteous with a good knowledge of the hotel & surrounding areas. We were staying in an executive room which looks directly onto the river with stunning views. The room was bright, modern & had been recently been refurbished with a huge king size bed & all mod cons aswell.ironing facilities ,tea & coffee with luxury biscuits as standard. The huge bathroom had it all & very modern with complimentary toiletries which are a high standard .The meals here are of high quality & hearty portions. The bar was also efficient with a good selection of drinks & reasonably priced for a high standard hotel.Overall it was a pleasure to stay here & I would definetly recommend it to others & I would stay here again....

Room Tip: executive rooms with river views

Stayed just 1 night over the bank holiday weekend. The hotel is spotlessly and clean and very tastefully decorated. Large comfortable bed. Beautiful bathrooms.Great car parking. Nice little touches in rooms like great hairdryer, luxury biscuits and generous tea/coffee tray. Very quiet room.We had a river view executive room. Breakfast was brilliant despite hotel being very busy. Found every single member of staff to be very, very friendly and helpful and we simply cant wait to go back. Dont judge the hotel from the outside, inside it is stunning. Loved it! Only tiny fault we could find was that the free wifi was not extended to the bedrooms. It was in the public areas only. There was no AC in our room. Didnt matter though with our current weather!

Room Tip: River view rooms are very quiet.

Arrived Saturday afternoon, the staff were very welcoming, they showed us to our room and it was beautiful. The location of the hotel was perfect, right in the middle of the town. Our room was very quiet and we slept very well. The breakfast was lovely, and the staff again were very nice and friendly. This hotel was value for money.
