Just returned from a 2 night stay at The Waterwheel, Ambleside and I cannot recommend this guesthouse highly enough. This grade 2 listed building has been decorated to a sublime standard, including a fabulous ensuite complete with clawfoot bath.
Situated in the heart of Ambleside's town centre, it is tucked away along a cobbled footpath that unless you know it's there you would never have noticed it, all of which makes for an almost 'secluded atmosphere'.
Upon our arrival we experienced a very warm welcome, with a decanter of port and kendle mint cake waiting for us in the room.
With only 3 rooms this guesthouse is small but perfectly formed!
