Once again we returned to Ambleside and Lacet House for our Lakeland Fells trip. Just like the scenery there were no dissappointments with our choice of residence. Catherine and Graham were just great and the breakfasts were just first class, full english, pancakes and cereals. The room was clean and tidied every day, we had wondered just what the fuss was about the streetlights, no problem at all, black-out blind there if required. We loved our stay and will return again next year. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The B&B really gave you the impression of living in a small hotel. The owners were real friendly and when we arrived they also helped us park our car, which wasn't the easiest thing to do:)

The rooms were clean, had a TV with a lot of channels. The location of the b&b is almost in the center of the town so once there you can walk if you are going someplace within the town. The downside to this is that you have your window to the street. If you are easily disturbed by noises this is not recommended, even if there isn't much traffic in the nights and in the early mornings.

We were four people travelling together, me and my husband didn't like the beds, since you felt the metal within the mattress in your back when you should sleep. The other two didn't complain about this, so perhaps this was only in our room on the 2nd floor.

The shower was a nightmare, at least for the two girls in the company, since you hardly got any water from the hose, it took ages to wash your hair. It was also hard to get the right temperature. First it was too cold, then too hot and when you had finally found the right temperature it sometimes switched itself to another warmth for a second and then back again.

Breakfast was all right, there was a selection of things to order which you filled in the day before. There were cereal and yoghurt for selfservice and you always got toast to eat. There were only low-fat yoghurt to choose from, which wasn't to my liking - I want ordinary dairy. It tasted ok, though.

All in all it was a pleasant stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Lacet House. The room was impeccably clean and the owners were very hospitable. It was a great base for a walking holiday and the owners had some put in place some clever little designs with this in mind. The breakfast was nice and the stay was good value. All in all we would recommend this b&b and would stay again.

Excellently located in the centre of the town, all attractions within easy walking distance. Very well furnished, choice of breakfast, which is excellent. Wonderfully warm hosts, with a high standard of cleanliness, very comfortable beds, well equipped rooms. Lots of good places to eat, lots of excellent walks from the house, leave your car and explore this wonderful area. All ares of the lake district can be easily reached from here. Very relaxing

The hospitality and room was second to none. Cath and Graham could not do enough to help us. The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. The choice for breakfast was excellent.
We will definately stay at Lacet House again.

Room Tip: Room 1 is spacious with a four poster bed - lovely
