“"Excellent Stay - Highly Recommend!!"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Lakes Lodge with my boyfriend. We had a wondeful time, perfect place to stay and perfect location. We loved our room (room 4) we had a four poster bed which was very comfortable, the room was spacious with a bath and shower in the bathroom. The room also had a TV and DVD player. The staff at Lakes Lodge made us feel extremely welcome and they could not do enough to help, they always had smiles on their faces and were all very friendly. A special thanks to Kath, from the day she checked us in to the day we checked out Kath couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast each morning was fab, we were able to go down in the morning and help ourselves to as much food as possible, there was plently to choose from (lovely bacon & sausages!!) each morning we took our breakfast back up to bed on a tray, the staff even helped carry this upstairs for us. This was the first time we visited the Lake District and we can't wait to return, will definitely stay at Lakes Lodge again.

We have just returned from our third visit to Lakes Lodge. It has become our favourite base in the Lakes. It comfortable, clean, friendly, relaxed.......and the buffet breakfasts are just why you need to set you up for the day. We are already planning our next visit back there. Thank you Lakes Lodge.

we stayed in the 'Bluebird' room for three nights for a reduced price having found a last minute deal online. It was a lovely room that had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the room looked as though it was newly decorated. It was a huge space, very light with modern decor and extremely clean. The bathroom again was spotless with a large shower and lovely complimentary hand wash etc. I was very impressed with the breakfast in the morning, there was lots to choose from and staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Plenty of parking.

We had a lovely stay at Lakes Lodge. We stayed in a superior room and it was perfect for us. The room was really big and had all the things you would expect to see. We even brought our labradoodle along for the stay and she enjoyed it too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was buffet style but worked really well. We had dinner at the b&b's sister hotel - The Regency Hotel, again, the food was of a high standard. Loved Ambleside, there were so many cute cafes and it was a good base for our walks. Definitely will be retuning soon.

Stayed overnight last night at this hotel. The staff were lovely and welcoming, the room was really big with 2 lovely comfy double beds. Great location. Will stay here again. (ate at the sister hotel the Regent - nice food and again superb staff and even got a 20% discount on the price for being resident of Lakes Lodges.)

we stayed at Lakes Lodge for 2 nights on October 24th. This is ideally situated in Ambleside .So close to shops and restaurants that are all within walking distance. We had a lovely large room on the 1st floor which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had a good sized bathroom with everything we needed. Very comfortable beds. We faced the road but traffic noise didnt bother us or keep us awake. Breakfast was enjoyable although you have to serve yourself. The staff kept refilling the dishes and there was no wait for anything . We would definitely return here. Also private parking available which was a great advantage . Good value .

Room Tip: We were in room 3 and enjoyed our stay

My wife booked this hotel with minimum supervision some time ago. We were warmly welcomed and even had some of our bags carried for us by the female owner/receptionist to the top floor. It was a case of volume of bags and not me being a total weakling...We stayed in room 10 and had a good view of the village and surrounding hillside. The room was spacious (approx 25sq/m), but, it had the basin in the bedroom, not a problem for us as we're not the perrennial moaners. The shower and toilet were compact, the width being the size of the shower unit. Although, i did take to the complimentary shower gel, i'm quite picky about things like that. The breakfast was a buffet style and more than acceptable for our requirements. The staff were very friendly and attentive, even offering to lend us maps. In the whole it was a good experience staying at this B&B.

Room Tip: Top floors are quieter as the ground floor rooms will have people traffic.
