We rented out the whole lodge for a family wedding - hugely successful! Staff accommodating and flexible, very friendly especially Carol. Would highly recommend for a family event!! Nothing was too much trouble. Nice central location!

This B and B us excellent. We were made very welcome on arrival by the reception staff and taken to our lovely room. As we had our dog with us we had a ground floor room with private access and wooden floors. The jacuzzi bath was great and lots of storage space. There were also toiletries provided and plenty of tea and coffee in the room. The breakfast was continental and loads of choice. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Really enjoyable 4 night stay. Thanks

Stayed 4 nights. Things I liked - very clean, large comfy bed, lots of storage space for clothes, friendly unhassled staff, location, parking, price, good hairdryer, relaxed atmosphere, pets allowed, good wifi service, large towels.
Didn't like so much - self service breakfast, very warm, room quite small, bathroom expelair seemed poor.
Overall a good place to stay mainly because of price and parking - many b & bs say they have parking in the Lakes but then you have to double park/leave your keys with owner. This place has a spacious car park right by the building. Would definitely stay again for this reason. And I suppose no fried breakfast = less calories for my waistline!!!!!!

Large bright room at front with 4 poster bed. Friendly check in and buffet breakfast was varied good choice. No cooked breakfast but the choice was very satisfactory. Great location as just parked car and everywhere in town was within a short walk.
Very hot weather and like nearly every hotel the same duvet was on the bed year round. All we wanted was a sheet. Ambleside is a great base to tour the lakes and a nice town.

We decided to stay an extra night in the Lake district and found Brathay Lodge quite by surprise. Even though we stayed for one night we were charmed by the warmth and welcoming of the hosts. We had a beautiful room facing the park and the hills - quite generous in size and more than what we expected. The continental breakfast was good and the parking was a breeze. They are also located close to the main street (lots of restaurants, cinema & shops) and yet a bit away from all the noise. We will stay there again if we go back to the Lake district.

We stayed here from 13-15 July 2013. Our room was one of the attic rooms which was ok by us but if you struggle with stairs forget it. Our first night was spoilt by a very noisy house party close by who were still partying when we got up for breakfast.
However I know that is nothing to do with Brathay lodge.
The room was clean and the shower excellent!
Breakfast was good continental style.
We will probably stay again.

Just spent 3 nights at Brathay Lodge. We had a spacious, clean family room with a balcony, and handy 2nd access outside and to the carpark. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was fresh and generous. Brilliant base to tour the lakes district from
