When we are in the Lake District we make a bee-line for Dodds restaurant. Located in the lovely town of Ambleside this busy and pleasant establishment always serves up a good meal. We visited three times enjoying confit of belly pork, pizza and rib-eye steak, all of which were great. A special mention of the confit of belly pork, which we had not had before, it would grace a Michelin star menu. The staff and proprietor, Tommy, are welcoming and efficient. The wine list is good and contains great southern Italian tipples from Puglia and Sicily. We would highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.
