“A Room With A View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Recent visit to Hull and only the premier inn to stay in, never been a fan until now......I booked a family room as we all tripped there for an overnight stay and it was great, we were on the 12th floor with a great view.

Couple of problems with the room nothing major but needed addresing and all sorted within 15 minutes of picking up the phone, staff very friendly and really helpfull.

If you visit the deep aquarium then stay at this hotel, 2 mins walk and ideal for the kids.

This was a spur of he moment trip and we hadn't booked, but luckily there were rooms available.

The first thing you noticed on entering at ground floor level (reception was on the 7th floor) was that both the entrance and inside the lift were achingly cold. It had been snowing on the way, but you expect to feel some heat when you enter a building, but this was not the case. A really nice guy on reception, Matt, told us it's because the entrance door is always open, the hotel is situated next to a river and consequently when you get into the (tiny) lift the cold air goes with you. I'd say that was a 'no brainer' Matt, make it an automatic door that remains shut until someone wants to get in!!

Room was as expected, but had only one towel in the bathroom. We called down and asked for another towel and they said we had to come and collect one, and we said thanks but could you have someone bring it up, we're on the 9th floor... They did.

It seemed sparser than other PI's I've stayed in, and the room was very, very cold. We tried to regulate the air con without success and after dinner went straight to bed. Dinner there was a sad affair... I ordered a burger but they didn't have any, so had a chicken burger which you'd have had a problem cutting into with a band saw. It was just lukewarm too. The restaurant was really busy though, lots of birthday and sort of hen parties, so I guess the kitchen was a bit overwhelmed.

Was spot in location wise for a sentimental journey visit to find the Land of Green Ginger street and the smallest window in England. It was all as was remembered.

A perfect Hotel for a business stopover in the area. Reception, check in and check out were absolutely first class. Evening restaurant needs organising better. Generally very good value for money.
It probably should be explained more clearly that the "meal deal" reduces the availaibility on the evening menu, which is disappointing.

Me and my partner have just come back from a great night away here. We travelled with our three children and went to The Deep which is within walking distance to the hotel. The hotel was clean and so were the rooms and the breakfast was excellent! The staff are really polite and friendly! Will come here again!

A very conveniently placed hotel in the city centre. It's only a short walk to the old centre of town and the excellent museum quarter. It's right by a busy road but you wouldn't know it inside the hotel. The free car parking was much appreciated. The room and service were good as was breakfast. We chose to eat dinner in the restaurant due to time constraints and although the staff were great the meal wasn't. It took a long time to come and was lukewarm on arrival. I would definitely stay there again ( son at Hull Uni.) but I'm not sure I'd have dinner there.

I stayed at this weekend on the 16th February 2013 with my husband and two children.
The reason for our visit was to visit The Deep Aquarium which was just across the road and meant we did not need to drive.
The directions the hotel texted to my mobile were great and easy to follow.
Parking was easy and free for the hotel.
We were greeted by a friendly receptionist who talked us through out stay.
We stayed in room 1225 which was a family room on the top floor. The view is not great from the side of the hotel we were on but that didn't bother us.
The room was lovely and had a double bed in and two single beds for the children. The room was bright and clean and had tea/coffee facilities in it. The bathroom was clean and okay for what we wanted it for.
We dined in the Premier Inn restaurant as was part of the package I made on-line. It was a meal deal and was okay for the price. You had a choice of three courses and included a drink.
Breakfast was great and you had a choice of everything in the buffet and you could also order other items such as porridge, omelettes etc.
The staff at this hotel was fantastic and were all helpful and polite.
Overall, my stay here was lovely and I would highly recommend this hotel.

The location was perfect, close to the Deep which was great. The room was large and comfortable with a great view. The shower room was nice. The staff were friendly and accommodating, told us were all they're facilities were and how to contact them if we had a problem (a high end london hotel I once stayed in I got the cold shoulder). The food was excellent and serve surprisingly quickly. The dinning area was also lovely and comfortable and had a great view of the city.
