We went here as it was convenient to have a pre theatre menu with two courses for £8.75.
We went to the restaurant upstairs rather than the bar area downstairs and were soon handed menus, the selection was from around 6-7 starters, 6-7 mains and 5 or 6 desserts. We went to the restaurant upstairs rather than the bar area downstairs.
My partner had the stilton & garlic mushrooms and the pizza and I had the chicken caesar salad and the sticky toffee pudding.
The starter seemed fine according to my partner and then our mains came. The caesar salad was plentiful, too much in fact and I couldn't eat it all, it needed a bit more finesse. My partners pizza however was rather average, it appeared to be just a plain cheese & tomato pizza with the extra toppings put on as almost an afterthought, it was edible, but didn't look appetising for a pizza.
The toffee pudding was nice but again, nothing special. But we managed to get to the theatre in time at the end of it.
Overall, good service, speedy delivery and good value but a slightly dated looking upstairs and an adequate, if not inspiring menu leads to an overall average experience. Given the number of restaurants I haven't tried yet, I think it may be a while before I return.
