“Great location but too noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

This newish Travelodge is very modern and quite nice too. We knew it would be noisy when we booked, but as we were booking more than 2 months in advance we thought we might have a chance of a quietish room. In fact we had a ground floor room next to the roundabout on the seafront, which was so noisy we had to keep the window closed and so it was very hot in the room, including in the night. There was a fan, which helped. Shortly after arrival we asked to change - including going higher up on the same side - but were told all rooms were taken except noisier ones on the karaoke pub side of the hotel. We wondered if there really wasn't a quieter room available - we were staying Sun and Mon nights, and frankly doubted that the hotel's quieter rooms were all taken on those nights. Of course we are maybe just being a tad too suspicious. This hotel is fine for an overnight stop but not for an attempt at a relaxing break by the sea. We wouldn't stay there again.

As to be expected - a typical Travelodge but the cook to order breakfast was certainly a bonus. Good, clean, nice shower, good location. Ticks the Travelodge boxes. Certainly worth considering if you are down this way.

This travelodge is my favourite. Clean, lovely staff, cheap, and my room had a fantastic view of the harbour. It is near pubs and restaurants and the rest of the area especially broadstairs which is beautiful. I hope to return next year.

Very happy with our stay here. We booked quite a while in advance, so only ended up paying around £20 per night for the room. For that we got a clean & tidy ensuite room overlooking the beautiful harbour. The room had a small doorless wardrobe, a desk, television & a small complimentary range of teas & coffees.
We paid a bit extra for the breakfast, which was all you can eat. The continental breakfast was fine, but the cooked breakfast was fairly average & not particularly memorable. For English breakfast lovers, we would highly recommend that you check out the eateries on Westcliff Arcade, just a stones throw away from the travelodge. If we stay again, we will certainly be doing this!
Saying that, overall it was a great stay & we would be happy to book again here.

We booked 2 rooms and asked if one could have a view. Receptionist was obliging but little did we realise the pubs and bars locally have loud music well into the night. For the price and cleanliness I was very impressed. Everyone was tired the next though, which was a shame. Car park opposite was cheap and easy. Loved the surrounding area

We stayed with family for a long weekend (Fri-Mon). For a budget hotel it was outstanding. Firstly the location is second to none, right on the seafront overlooking the harbour. We had harbour view rooms. Was a bit noisy when the pubs kicked out but a very small price to pay for a lovely view. Rooms have been refurbed and the new beds are very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and always willing to help. There is a nice bar with reasonable prices. Didn't try the food but there is an abundance of restaurants/pubs within a stones throw of the hotel. If you are looking for a simple but comfortable hotel with a fantastic seaftont location then this is the place to go.
