The Dover Restover room was a bit small but impeccably clean. The owner couldn't have been more accomodating. The breakfast was cooked to order and very good. The location is close to restaurants and shopping. The Dover Castle was close enough to hike to. The location is also directly accross from the train station but we were not inconvenienced by train noise. This is a most agreeable establishment. Also the price was most competitive.

Had a wonderful two day stay here. The experience was all that could be expected and our group that ranged in ages from 14 to 82 would look forward to a return visit. Our host was friendly, but not intrusive and his local knowledge was second to none. The beds were some of the most comfortable that we experienced during our 4 week stay in the UK. I would thoroughly recommend this B&B to anyone.

Months befoe our departure, our travel agent booked rooms for our group for the night before we were to board a cruise ship after 2 pm the following day. After a trans Atlantic flight and private bus trip from Heathrow airport, we arrived at our reserved destination, Dover Restover only to be told that our rooms were not ready and it would be two hours before we could rest. We were directed down a hill for several blocks into the town of Dover. There, we found a pub and cooled our heels for two hours. The owner allowed us to leave our bags at the inn.

After two hours, we returned to the B&B and hauled our luggage up a very narrow flight of stairs to our room. The room was clean but very small, the bathroom even smaller. The tiny shower stall had a slippery concave floor and was hazardous. The room was at the front of the Inn on the noisy main thoroughfare into Dover and in front of the railway station.

We went back down in the morning to a very nice breakfast. During breakfast, we were told by our host that we would have to vacate the rooms by 9 am because other guests were arriving early. Since we could not board our ship until after 2 pm, we were left to wander around Dover until our private coach picked us up and took us to the ship.

Needless to say, the Dover Restover did not provide a pleasant start to our holiday. Thank goodness, our 14 day cruise was outstanding.

We had a good experience with the Restover Bed and Breakfast in Dover, England. First, it is very close to the Ferry docks, which was important to us, since we had an early morning reservation for the ferry. Secondly, the proprietor was very friendly and very helpful, which made for a pleasant stay. There was a nice breakfast in a cheerful breakfast room.
The room was small, though very clean and functional. The only negative was the stairs, quite a few flights of steps to our room. However, I think this would be the case in any of the B&Bs in this area, since they're all in tall, older houses.
We would recommend this B&B to someone looking for a place in Dover, convenient to the Ferry docks.
