“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

Really enjoyed our stay, very good breakfast and a good nights sleep. Very easy to find and very convenient for ferry port. We would be very happy to use this B&B agin when travelling from Dover. Convenient for town centre and eating places.

We attempted to check in early (1pm) but realised they operated after 4pm so we took in Dover Castle and surrounds during the a, such a fantastic place!
Maison Dieu is a wonderful guest house. We travelled as a family of four - 2 adults with 2 kids ages 9 and 5, and the family room is perfect. A cosy retreat with a beautiful view of Dover Castle from the window whilst sitting in a relaxing armchair.
We were recommended by the hosts a lovely beachside restaurant called Cullins Yard and this was great - seaside bistro/bar restaurant that caters for many tastes.
The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast served was all you could ask for - either a full cooked breakfast or continental. Our kids were well catered with pancakes and waffles! Thanks again and I highly recommend a stay here either travelling on your own, as a couple or as a family like we did.

Thank you! We're so pleased you all enjoyed your stay with us at Maison Dieu Dover - lovely that you managed to make the most of your short stay!

We have an early check-in between 11am -1pm but this is stricly 'by arrangement' and so if our guests wish to drop off luggage etc it is important to let us know in advance otherwise we may well be out. We are more than happy to provide maps and directions and suggestions regarding somewhere to eat - Dover is a small town therefore it's so easy to enjoy some relaxing 'time out' or indeed to maximise a short stay.

Our large Ensuite rooms are great for families but they become spacious double or twin rooms throughout the off peak season - so we offer flexible accomodation and hopefully, something to suit everyone.

An absolute gem of a place in Dover, and very good value for money. I had a small room for one night and was not looking for much, and I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort, cleanliness, lovely touches (like a small water bottle and paperbacks to read in the room), and superb attention to detail in everything. The hosts were very efficient, polite and helpful, and they obviously put a lot of thought in how to run their business. The breakfast was very good and the hosts had no problems dealing with my substitutions. I would definitely recommend it for any lenght of stay in Dover and I will definitely reebook here if I need to come back to the area. Thanks very much!

Thank you for your kind comments - you are most welcome! Travelling alone can be quite a trial and often quite expensive which is why our very affordable single rooms are so popular - as you rightly say, we provide everything you might need but with limited space - and that is obviously reflected in our very reasonable room rates. Our Standard & Small Ensuite Single rooms are perfect for a stopover or short break and we provide ground floor storage for any excess luggage not required in the room.

We just come back from Dover, and we stayed in this magnificent B&B!
The owners are extremely kind and they waited for us to arrive even if it was quiet late.
The room was just perfect!, clean and cosy, with teas and coffees facilities, in the morning they have a lot of choice for the breakfast and everything ids tasty and home made!
Diane gave us all the info about restaurants, activities and place to visit and she was always smiling and helpful.
I commend this place to everyone want to stay in a quiet and warm place!
Thank you again for the lovely stay!!!

I was in UK for business and stayed 3 more nights. I decided to visit Dover and booked here. I soon learned that I forgot my passport at my last hotel. Diane worked with the other hotel and my passport was delivered the next day to Dover...which saved me time and stress. Delightful B&B. Dover castle is awesome. Diane and Barry terrific.

This was a lucky find in a small town with little classic hotels and upscale accommodations. We're not fans of B&B's but we are of this one!

First, we let the owners know we would be arriving in the morning. Despite their check-in time, they WARMLY welcomed us! We were shown to our room while one of the owners carried our bags up the stairs. Then we were asked what we were going to do and she offered lots of options that delivered the best experience we could have wanted!!!

The bed was comfy and the view from the room was of the lovely garden. The breakfast was nicely done and again, the owners were there to please the guests. And they did!

This is like staying at your favorite Aunts home, quaint, cute and warm. It's not trying to be something that it isn't.

Many a B&B could take a lesson from this one! These people care about their business so they care about you too.
