“Great welcome in a traditional pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2014 NEW

A friendly welcome, good food and a well kept bar. What's not to like in this traditional pub that boasts it is a piemeister!
The food is excellent pub grub and the atmosphere is comfortable, no hint of pretension.

“Excellent Dog Friendly pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2014

Really nice little pub with very reasonable wine list and good pub food. Dog appreciated that he was allowed on the leather sofa between us!

“Dog and human friendly with excellent food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014 via mobile

We were recommended this pub by the camping and caravanning staff and it was so good, completely dog friendly with a great range of beers for the humans! On the first visit we had their pies which were gorgeous and the second visit we had the burgers - not off the faint hearted - they were delicious!! Very friendly staff and landlord coupled with the adorable dog called Tia Maria who loves cuddles!!! Definitely worth a visit - closed on a Sunday!!

“Glad we found it.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014 via mobile

After walking round forcages looking for a nice place to have a quiet drink. All the others in the centre were noisy crowded & in my opinion looked tatty.
This one looked deceiving from the front. Inside it, was tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. The landlady was charming. Loos beautiful for want of a better phrase. A nice touch was a little area with leaflets, mags and general tourist info and a sweet little continental style courtyard/terrace. Well worth the half hour traipse looking for somewhere nice.

“Not the cutest county pub but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

There are many cute country pubs and this is not one of them... however the food is "good pub grub".
Located in a county town of a handful of houses, this pub is a bit off the well worn track.
