“Nice and Peaceful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

There aren't too many places left where one can indulge in some peace and quiet but in this park you can! Lovely views across the lake to the Abbey and some quiet places to enjoy in all four corners. Can get busy with Kids n Idle Mums over the holidays and the Saturday morning football brigade, but during the day time, a wonderful place!

“This park has it all”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

A beautiful large park with so much to do. There is a playground, splash pool and mini golf area for the kids and outdoor fitness areas for the active adults. For those interested in history there are areas of Roman ruins and the enclosed Roman baths (free entry). The lake is lovely to walk around and Ye Olde Fighting Cocks pub is a must. I've heard that the park cafe has also improved and is worth a visit.

“So much of interest in such a pleasant park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

A pleasant enough park with riverside/lakeside walk which would be enough in itself (on a bright, dry day). But add to that the old Roman walls, a magnificent Roman mosaic and the walk up to the abbey, and you get an excellent afternoon out. And all for £1.20p for 3 hours parking!

“love it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

Have brekkie at the cafe in the morning with the dog walkers...fab coffee and bacon sarnies. Then a walk through the park, feed the ducks and feel totally energised.

“A great little museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

A wonderful chunk of History encapsulated and displayed in a delightful museum. A wonderful array of Roan artefacts to look at. Learning so much more about a significant part of British History and the Roman culture and everyday life.
Adjacent to the musem is the beautiful park, with remains iof the Roman wall and theatre. The park itself offers a beautiful place to walk and picnic . . .and for the kids to let of staem, if they have done 'controlling' themselves in the small confines of a Museum. Beautiful lake, trees and Cafe. From the park, StAlbans centre is within easy walking distance, as too is the oldest pub in the UK . .The Fighting Cock. Once a place where cock fighting took place. A truly fascinating building and genuine piece of history. A good beer cellar, with excellent choice in wines and spirits. the food was delicious . .but took an age in coming! But we were on a leisurely day out, so Time wasn't really an issue for us.
