“love it”

Have brekkie at the cafe in the morning with the dog walkers...fab coffee and bacon sarnies. Then a walk through the park, feed the ducks and feel totally energised.

“A great little museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

A wonderful chunk of History encapsulated and displayed in a delightful museum. A wonderful array of Roan artefacts to look at. Learning so much more about a significant part of British History and the Roman culture and everyday life.
Adjacent to the musem is the beautiful park, with remains iof the Roman wall and theatre. The park itself offers a beautiful place to walk and picnic . . .and for the kids to let of staem, if they have done 'controlling' themselves in the small confines of a Museum. Beautiful lake, trees and Cafe. From the park, StAlbans centre is within easy walking distance, as too is the oldest pub in the UK . .The Fighting Cock. Once a place where cock fighting took place. A truly fascinating building and genuine piece of history. A good beer cellar, with excellent choice in wines and spirits. the food was delicious . .but took an age in coming! But we were on a leisurely day out, so Time wasn't really an issue for us.

“The lungs of St Albans”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

A large green space that has ancient ruins, the best view of the Cathedral, play area, boating lake, football pitches, cafe, swimming pool, theatre, space for events (fair, circus), pitch and putt etc. and loads of running around space.

“Beautiful, Historic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

This park covers most of the Roman town of Veralamium and has a few pieces of the original wall. Makes for a lovely evening stroll. Lots of joggers and sporty types use the park but they don't spoil it.

“Lovely park even in the autumn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

I visit this park every time I'm in St Albans , it's free has a really lovely lake in it and is pleasent to wander round . There is a childrens playground so little ones can be entertained plus ducks to feed for them . The roman walls are still standing and the views lovely , well worth a visit .
