We turned up for one of their advertised distillery tours, 1pm on a Friday, quite excited to see behind the scenes, and sample some of their products.
On arrival just before 1pm we found the last tour finishing up their tasting session and decided to hang about until they had finished. We stood in the foyer being ignored for over half an hour (while staff came and went). When we asked about the tour, we were told that we'd be seen soon. We stood about for a while longer until the last people left. Then when they finally got round to seeing us, we were told that they couldn't do a tour for us because we hadn't booked.
They did offer to 'entertain' us and give us a quick look around, so we agreed, but were then left standing in the foyer for another 10 mins being ignored again.
In the end we walked out.
I appreciate that they may be busy, but manners don't cost anything. It would have been nice to have been informed that they were too busy to do the advertised tour when we arrived, rather than having to wait over half an hour to be told. We would have understood if they had just informed us when we got there, rather than ignoring us.
We just found them a bit rude.
I would definately advise calling in advance to check the advertised tours are running. It would have saved us a lot of time.
