We visited the house after 3pm on the last Sunday in April. The interior of the house is delightful & at odds with the rather grim exterior. We would have enjoyed 'pottering' through the rooms speaking to the guides but as it was so crowded, it was difficult to see much. The tea rooms were so busy, we gave up. The shop is tiny (and crowded). The only place that wasn't crowded was the gardens & I guess the cold wind helped. Would love to come again but would make it mid week & out of season.
