“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

Waited too long for very average/poor food. Would go here again for a drink but not food. Salmon was dry and lacked seasoning. Chips over cooked. Salad was dull. :(

“Lovely setting - poor food!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

We sat outside by the river which was delightful. However, the food was very poor and the service was flippant verging on rude... when a waitress was asked by ourselves if she could clear and wipe down the table we were about to sit at she replied "that's not my job" - well perhaps find another job because the service industry is not for you!!

We will not return which is a shame because the location is great.

“Nice outdoor seating area but slightly disappointing food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

I visited with a friend on Sunday for lunch and managed to get a table outside, which had nice views of the river. Whilst the chicken roast dinner I had was tasty it appeared that the chicken had been cooked earlier and then re-heated, although not very well in my case as some parts of the chicken leg were warm, some were luke warm and some were cold. None of the chicken was hot, although the potatoes were to be fair. The yorkshire pudding had also been cooked to within an inch of its life and was crispy to say the least.
It was busy there so it's obviously a popular venue, but having read other reviews it appears my experience with the food wasn't a one off, which is a shame.

“Poor food for the masses”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

Nice setting with outdoor seating overlooking the river.

Reasonable range of drinks.

Went here for Sunday lunch with parents. Very disappointed. It's like the the food is lined up in the kitchen to go, dropped in a deep fat fryer and then served regardless of what you have ordered.
Service was poor, felt like you were in the way!

I guess this is what happens in a tourist pub

Won't be returning for food

“Not sure which part of "allergic to garlic" they didn't understand?!?!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013 via mobile

Title says it all, I'm allergic don't put it in my food! I told them on ordering, they checked with the chef and confirmed it again when I received the meal. Which reeked of garlic, gave them benefit of the doubt as my companion was having garlicky meal so it could have been wafting, but no. 20 mins later other diners were treated to the sound of me retching. Not a great meal all in all. Companions meal was charged but mine was free. Just as well really!
