“Very Interesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2013

Went here as family member served with the Rifles. Was very interesting with lots of informative interesting displays. Only dmaper was staff member telling us the emblem we were about to purchase was wrong one so we didnt buy it. On checking with the ex service man we were told she was wrong it had been the right one.

“Outstanding museum in a great setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

This place is great. Inexpensive, well located and with excellent parking. The museum itself is packed full of detail and includes a lot of history before WW1, which is often covered relatively briefly in many regimental museums. Once could spend a whole morning or afternoon wandering round absorbing the detail. The only thing missing is compelling current detail on the RIFLES but this is more than made up for by the rest of the exhibits.

“An amazing place to visit as an Ex Green Jacket”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

My husband is an ex Green Jacket and the minute we visit Winchester, he gallops up to the Museum and bliss's out reminiscing, the day he arrived as an conscript 18 year old from the East End of London. He took his friend this year, another Green Jacket, who recognised the cells!! He apparently went AWOL as he was on a fantastic date with a local girl from Winchester!! My husband said his Drill Sargent would have a heart attack to see the sacred "Drill Square" turned into a fountain and lavender garden and people can walk on it now!! My husband, at a green 18, being conscripted to Winchester, from the east End of London, has been given the deep love of Winchester and all the wonderful memories of the city, he has now.

“very very good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

I consider myself well informed on military history, and have visited many museums.
This stands out as a extremly well presented and interesting museum. with its location to all the other miltary/regimental museums its a must see. If you are interested in military history you need to allow at least a day to visit all the museums located here. I spent the afternoon while the OH went shopping it rearly wasnt enough time as they shut around 4pm.Will visit again.

“First In - Last Out - Back Again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

This museum to the Royal Green Jackets is one of the best Regimental Museums I have visited. It has been regularly revised and updated to show the progress and updates of The RIFLES to the modern day. The Battle of Waterloo model and story is a MUST for anyone interested in British History!!
