Guided tours lasting just under one hour. Reasonably priced food and drink in the refectory. A must when visiting Winchester.

“Worth the visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

The architecture is amazing, the lead glass nice, but the chapels are amazing! My wife was impressed with the Jane Austin inlay!

“Special exhibits”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

I really enjoyed visiting the Cathedral apart from the ticket seller who seemed reluctant to provide any information about where to go/ tours etc and more interested in moving us on as quickly as possible despite there being no queue. I would have given 5 stars but for this unnecessary brusqueness.
However the building inside and out is full of stunning architecture and artwork. I especially enjoyed Anthony Gormley's sculpture in the crypt. It is worth being aware that the crypt tours are only possible when the crypt isn't flooded. Unfortunately this appears to be very frequent. However you can see the sculpture well enough from a raised platform. The water creates a really great photo.
We were there for more than two hours which included a marvelous tour with Reg.
We were able to park quite easily near the Cathedral in Colebrook Street (on a Thursday morning) though the Park and Ride (East) is convenient from junction 10 of the M3.

“Stunning Cathedral”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

Worth visiting the Cathedral and ticket is valid for 1 year. Beautiful architecture and stained glass windows to see. Tours available if preferred. Jane Autsten buried in the Cathedral and St Swithun's remains are there too. Nearby refectory sells good food.
