As you enter the restaurant you are greeted by a doorman in a spectacularly colourful Indian traditional costume. The tables are attractively presented with fine linen tablecloths and napkins. Although the restaurant was almost full, on a Friday night, we received excellent and prompt service. I chose unluckily with my starter. Mightily impressed by the chilli crabcakes at the nearby Rasraj restaurant a few weeks before, I ordered the same dish here. It was OK, but not so magical. The other three diners were very happy with their starters, particularly those cooked in the tandoori oven. For a main course I went for Chicken Tikka Massala. This was very tasty, in a creamy light brown sauce instead of the usual red sauce. As an accompaniment, I had a first-class naan bread. Just the right amount of black charred touches at the edge, very fluffy in texture. Perfect. A highlight of the meal was the immaculately served pint of Cobra beer, in a custom-made iced Cobra glass. A very fine beer indeed - strongly recommended. At the end of the meal both the owner and the restaurant manager bid us farewell, a nice touch. The available choice of dishes is immense, including such as tandoori venison. I look forward to exploring the menu on future visits.
