The food is okay, quite small portions and overpriced for what you get.The service was acceptable but would not eat there again.

“Good christmas works do.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

Had a good christmas works do. The food was pretty good, bar service was quite slow and prices were not too bad. Glad they've get rid of the anexe which is freezing. The 1/2 bottle of wine each is ok, nothing to write home about. The fair ground rides were fun after a few jars and the Candy floss good to bring home to the kids.

“Great venue, great team”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012 via mobile

Have been to the Rose bowl on several occasions now and seen some really good cricket and a couple of Christmas Partirs.

The venue is great especially on a nice day and sat high in the main stand there are great views across the countryside to go with the cricket.

Always been really easy to get into venue once there. Going by car is a bit of a nightmare but going by train and catching the bus from Hedge End station was much quicker and cheaper (£10 car park and an hour to get out of car park).

Drinks are a bit expensive as they are at all sports venues. Take my own food and drink (no alcohol can be taken in for T20 or international games). Food can be got from catering vans but is mainly those microwave heated sausage and burger at inflated prices.

But saying that the sport is what I go to watch and have never found any problems with the venue just the weather occasionally, but we do live in the UK.

“Playing with a straight bat.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

One Day international England v Southa Africa.

The earlier forecasted of rain all but stayed away and even sunny at times.

Not a great understanding of the game but with the help of more knowledgable colleagues and nearby spectators was guided through the game.

Clear un-obstructed views of the field. With plenty of replays and stats on the two big screens.

There were ample resources for beer and a variety of food to keep you sustained through the aftyernoon and evening.

Prices at these stalls could not be descibed as cheap but similarly not prohibitive and in line with other venues like say Twickenham.

The temporary type seating was adaquate for it's prupose but quite open, with the upper teirs exposed to the wind so I would advise taking extra layers if your game goes into the evening.

All in all a throughly enjoyable day even though we lost!
