“Worthwhile visit when in Southampton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

It was very informative and coupled with the Titanic exhibition made it a worthwhile visit. The information on the Titanic disaster, despite being generally know showed the enormity of the tragedy.

“Don't get excited”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

The Titanic theme will draw you in - there are no artefacts on display. This may be due to the fact that many in southampton which lost the biggest percentage of souls find it completely disrespectful to remove anything from the wreck as it disturbs the resting place of many loved ones. I would save your money for something else you will not learn anything new that you have not gained from movies etc. Was a big dissapointment.

“A must for any interested in life at sea.”

Well thought out and presented exhibitions covering a wide spectrum of life at sea. Plenty of interest for children.

“Disappointing Titanic Museum”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

Have been planning to visit the museum - was very disappointed, We found the exibition in the Wool House much better as did the visitor of the 11th October. Money could have been better spent. Another disapointment was the entrance charge - as the Hampshire County Coucil booklet "Enjoy Hampshires Museums and Archives" made no mention of an entrance fee. Would not visit again.

“Great experience at the SeaCity Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

We really enjoyed our visit to the Museum.
Although I have lived for many years in the Southampton arrea I had never really appreciated how much of an impact the Titanic disaster had on the city. The vast majority of the crew were local.
The Titanic story unfolded through the lives of 4 crew members (Captain down to a 3rd Class Steward), well told and in as much detail as you choose.
There are lots of interactive exhibitions as well as videos telling the story of the Titanic.
Excellent hall giving the history of Southampton from pre-history to the current day.
The museum is predominantly about Southampton which is a little disappointing - there could have been more about the other great cruise liners that have graced Southampton down the years (Queen Mary is one exception).
However highly recomended and leave plenty of time to see and interact with the exhibitions - at least 2 hours
