“Interesting and Interactive Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Lots to do here, which is just as well as admission prices are high. Very interactive, with some nice touches - who wouldn't want to steer Titanic through Southampton Water? Bit too much Titanic and not enough about all the other interesting history of Southampton. It's a pity there are almost no artefacts from Titanic, they're equivalents taken from sister ship Olympic. The enquiry video in a real former courtroom which is an amazing room is very well done and placed well at the end of the tour.
I'd have bought some more souvenir items, especially with Xmas near, but the prices are extortionate. Charge half the price they'd sell three times the amount I reckon.
Overall a good time was had by all.

“Really Good Museum on Nautical History of Southampton”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Excellent place to visit and very interactive and informative. I have lived here most of my life and there was information I learnt that I was unaware of, so make and effort as it is not just abot Titanic but the whole history of the Sea life as well.

“A reasonable afternoon out.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

This is a nice museum, although i'm not sure why it doesnt just become a titanic museum as this is all that is there really.

We were there for about two hours and it was interesting although i did think it was a bit expensive for what is there.

All of the titanic stuff is a replica however the courtroom exhibit is very interesting and you do get a sense of the staff present on the ship.

Overal if you are in the area, interested in the titanic and have a few hours to spare then this is worth a visit but dont expect miracles. Also we were two adults but if you had children i think they would be rather bored as there isnt much to do for small children, even the videos tend to be aimed at adults.

“High admission prices !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

We wanted to visit the museum while in Southampton and were disappointed to find that it is all under one roof now along with the Titanic exhibition, and there is a charge for everyone over 5. It would have cost me and two children about £20. So we just went to the cafe part, which was nice. But how disappointing to have such high admission charges for the town museum.

“Lots to see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012 via mobile

Plenty of interesting things from Titanic to Roman artefacts and much more. Holds a fantastic model of the Queen Mary for instance.

There's also plenty local information about Southampton and it's development as well as maritime military history.

The layout is well chosen and it's location is quite central and is therefore great for doing things afterwards.

Well worth a visit.
