“American Idiot Never Sounded so good!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

Had a great day here seeing Green Day: American Idiot The Musical. Sounds were amazing, no distortion, and even though i was seated in the balcony area, still had an amazing view of the stage and the performence just made the whole experience brilliant for me! All very friendly and welcoming, cheaper than you would expect as well!

“Always enjoyable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

Been to the Mayflower many times for pantos, musicals and other productions. We always enjoy the atmosphere in this beautiful theatre. We tend to choose the first section of the dress circle (quite pricey), but always a great overall view of the stage. The seating is a little tired and a bit squashed if you are taller than average. Ordering drinks for the interval is briiliant as you can enjoy the interval without rushing. It would be great however to have a bit more seating around the bar area for comfort. Parking in the multi story just near to the theatre is also handy and usually free after 6pm. Overall - would recommend!

“the Mousetrap”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

my wife and i made another visit to the Mayflower Theatre in November - this time to see The Mousetrap. we were not disappointed at all. we were there for the 60th anniversary of this whodunnit and as usual, at the end, one is sworn to secrecy regarding the villain of the piece. once again, i find the Mayflower to be one of the best theatres in the country. reasonable prices and a very good selection in the bar.

“Midnight Tango - spoilt by trying to be all things to all men (and women)”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

Flavia and Vincent certainly know their craft but having attended many tango shows over the last few years, I found this one a great disappointment. Not so much because of the dancing but because I found the 'comedy' element puerile and unnecessary and the stage set so fussy it detracted from the dancing. Up to now I have always enjoyed a good tango show but I was bored and really couldn't wait to go home - the buffoonery was so OTT and cringeworthy (it reminded me of clowning around at the circus). If I'd wanted to see a farce I would have booked tickets to see one but I wanted good beautiful passionate and 'brooding' tango but what I got was too little and lost in a morass of props and silly caricatures.

“Soul Sister”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Fantastic show - my husband had seen Tina Turner in concert so was a bit nervous when booked the show - wondered if the leading lady would do the great Tina Turner justice. Did not have to worry she gave an excellent performance.

It was the first time we had been to the Mayflower to see a show and the theatre is really lovely. Would go again.
