“Value for money - clean and good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

Booked in here at the last minute as need to stay somewhere in Southampton for work. The hotel is adjacent to the West Quay Shopping centre so it can't get more convenient than that if you want to shopping and easy dining options. I parked in the West Quay car park and Premier Inn will validate your parking pass so that you don't pay more than £5.00 per 24 hours. This was much better than the £10 the adjacent parking lot wants for 24 hours parking.

There's no real reception however an attendant was very happy to help me operate the kiosk so that I could check in and get my room key. It was quite efficient and straightforward. The hotel was clean and my room was decent. It is rather new so it has that going for it, by default. Double bed, coffee and tea facilities, desk, tv, clean bathroom, surprisingly nice towels - for £73 a night I couldn't complain. There is a bar and restaurant on site as well and the ambience was better than expected in both of these facilities.

When I checked in they mentioned that if I have any problems press the fix it button on the phone. They failed to mention that to use the phone (even to 'fix it') you have put in your payment details and it will cost you 10p per minute. There is no wake up call option either, so bring your alarm clock! I can imagine if you have any serious problem whereby you need someone to help it might be difficult to get quick service purely due to the very self efficient setup they have. That would be reflective of the style of hotel though, not this particular branch.

On business? Short stay? I would recommend this hotel as it ticked all the boxes. There's probably not much else you could expect for the money. It's no frills - but sometimes that is all you need.

Excellent place to stay for pre cruise or any other travel. Room available early, which was a bonus. Easy check in, helpful staff. Great room. Modern furnishing. Customer service was to a very high standard. Ate in the Thyme restaurant, no complaints food good. Right by shopping centre, You can stock up with a few nibbles and drinks from Marks and Spencer's food hall. Car park £ 5 per night. Right next to the Premier inn.
Cost £ 6. in a taxi to cruise terminal. No hesitation in booking this. Would stay again.

We had a nice stay and a comfortable bed but we did have some serious issues. Someone had checked into a room under my name and obviously the staff did not take enough security measures to stop this!!

hotel located in a business district near the harbour. rooms are the usual premier inn quality, clean and comfortable, convenient if you travel by car as there is a huge car park near by plus many shopping opportunities. The city centre is also close by just a 5 min walk.

We booked two rooms for one night prior to departing for a cruise. This hotel is situated in an excellent location, close to the middle of town and a very short distance from the cruise terminals. The staff were very efficient, helpful and friendly. The rooms, as usual with Premier Inns, were of a good size, comfortable and very clean. The restaurant (Thyme) had a varied menu and all dishes were of a good standard and served piping hot. The only reservation we had prior to arrival was that there was no on site parking, however there is space to unload your luggage at the rear of the hotel and there is a multi storey car park situated next door which, if your ticket is validated at the hotel costs only £5 a night. We would certainly stay here again. Very good value for money.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor facing the road so quiet room. Possibly better to be either high up or at t...

Have just returned from this hotel. Stayed for 1 night following a cruise.
We got to the hotel at 9:30am having walked from the Dock (20 min walk) and wondered if a room would be available. Fantastic news!! It was (and after only having 5 hours sleep the night before we were happy that it was ready).

Quick check in by pleasant staff. Given a room on the 3rd floor near the lift. Perfect.
The room was clean and large with a King Size Double Bed. 4 pillows in room. We flopped and fell into a well needed slumber.

In all the hotel is perfect for cruise stop overs and just what is needed after a weeks sight seeing and partying.

Car parking next to hotel at £5 per day - the car park closes at 10pm and opens at 5am and is safe and very secure. To park at the port would of cost double this but its close enough to walk.

Thank you Premier Inn - Just perfect in everything.
